Full truckload freight shipping

Full truckload, or FTL, means your freight takes an entire trailer and travels direct from pickup to delivery. No other shipper's freight rides along and nothing is transferred at a terminal on the way.

When full truckload is the right call

Volume

The obvious case is volume. Once freight fills most of a trailer, a dedicated truck is both faster and cheaper per unit than sharing space.

Handling

The less obvious case is handling. A full truckload is handled twice, at loading and at unloading. Freight moving in shared space is handled far more than that, and every touch is a chance for damage. For fragile or high-value freight this is often the deciding factor rather than cost.

Timing

The third case is timing. Direct routing is predictable routing. When a delivery date is firm, a dedicated trailer removes most of the things that can move it.

What LT2 arranges

LT2 arranges full truckload capacity nationwide and into Canada on dry van, flatbed, step deck and reefer equipment. Every carrier is verified before it touches your freight, and monitored on an ongoing basis.

LT2 is backed by Laufer Trucking, an asset-based carrier running its own trucks since 1977.
